Flipped Learning 3.0 World Tour Kicks Off at ASCD
Five factors signal a global paradigm shift in Flipped Learning has begun; Flipped Learning pioneer hits the road to brief educators worldwide.
CHICAGO, March 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), a worldwide coalition of educators, researchers, technologists, professional development providers and education leaders, kicked off the Flipped Learning 3.0 Global Tour at the ASCD National Conference. The worldwide tour was organized to update the education community on the five factors that signal the start of a new era in Flipped Learning.
The five key indicators identified are:
- Awareness that Flipped Learning is a dynamic, not static, instructional model that is rapidly changing
- Recognition that Flipped Learning is evolving in unexpected ways because of increased research, classroom innovations and advances in technology
- The emergence of Flipped Learning as a global movement
- A new awareness about the scope, impact and implications of Flipped Learning
- Expanding global demand for skilled Flipped Learning professionals
In February, FLGI Researchers, Fellows and Master Teachers confirmed the findings of the 12-month project that identified the paradigm shift. Flipped Learning pioneer Jon Bergmann began the world tour with a soft launch in Mexico on March 22 [nd] . The tour officially begins on Saturday in California at the ASCD exhibition and includes stops in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Taiwan, China, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, India and selected cities across the United States.

In addition to the world tour, FLGI has launched a series of webinars to introduce Flipped Learning stakeholders to Flipped Learning 3.0. The online sessions discuss the practical implications for teachers, administrators, tech coaches, flipped learning trainers, consultants, researchers, technology developers and education policy makers. Each session hosts Flipped Learning 3.0 innovators with experience in each of the five factors driving the paradigm shift in Flipped Learning.
